Itinerary

Day 1 – Hanoi

Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes and offers an unforgettable first glimpse of Hanoi’s vibrant energy—where chaotic traffic, distinctive architecture, and streams of motorbikes create a truly captivating scene.

Hanoi feels like a step back in time, where tradition and modern life intertwine. Watch as motorbikes weave through the streets, locals bargain over fresh goods sold from bicycles, and conversations unfold over cups of green tea on tiny plastic stools lining the sidewalks. It’s a lively, authentic introduction to Vietnam that is both exhilarating and endearing.

This evening, join your fellow travellers for a Welcome Dinner. Our local guide will escort us from the hotel to the restaurant, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable start to the journey.

After dinner, enjoy free time at leisure to explore Hanoi by night—perhaps wander the Old Quarter or simply soak up the city’s electric atmosphere.

The first part of the journey provides an authentic glimpse into the “real” Hanoi, capturing a true day-in-the-life experience. Travelling through maze-like backstreets, narrow alleyways, and local neighbourhoods, we will gain insight into how locals live, work, and socialise in this vibrant and ever-evolving city.

The second part of the tour showcases Hanoi’s most iconic landmarks. Highlights include the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Tran Quoc Pagoda, the well-known Train Street, the elegant French Quarter, the bustling Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, the Hanoi Opera House, and the historic Long Bien Bridge. This is a panoramic experience, with stops for viewing rather than entry into the sites.

The experience concludes with a visit to the Hidden Gem Café, where we can relax and enjoy a selection of authentic, fresh, and locally inspired dishes. Vegan and vegetarian options are available.

Return to the hotel is scheduled for approximately 12:00pm, followed by free time at leisure in the afternoon.

(Please note: cameras may incur an additional fee inside the theatre.)

As evening approaches, we will delve into Hanoi’s renowned culinary scene with a guided street food experience. Beginning at Dong Xuan Market, the city’s largest and most bustling marketplace, the tour showcases why Hanoi is considered one of the world’s great street food capitals.
