The unforgettable Rhine in Flames
The absolute highlight of my trip was the Rhine in Flames event. Picture this: our ship joined a parade of illuminated boats floating past castles and villages all lit up in red lights, followed by the most incredible fireworks display I’ve ever seen. I’m sitting on the Vista Deck with dinner and a glass of champagne, watching this magical spectacle unfold. It was honestly breathtaking and something I will never forget!
Spacious suites, fine dining & world-class hospitality
My Seahorse Suite was incredibly spacious and beautifully appointed. The bathroom had double sinks, there was a generous walk-in wardrobe, and I have to mention—the shower had fantastic water pressure! It’s those little details that really make a difference when you are away from home.
The dining was phenomenal throughout the trip. Extensive buffet breakfasts, multiple lunch options, and four-course dinners with plenty of choices each night. Our all-inclusive package meant I could sample Taittinger champagne and try wines from every region we visited without worrying about the bill. The freedom to indulge was wonderful.
What really made this cruise special was the people. Every single crew member was genuinely friendly and attentive—they seemed to genuinely enjoy making our experience memorable. The tour guides were exceptional too, bringing each destination to life with their knowledge and enthusiasm. They made every excursion engaging and informative.
Culture, scenery, and sweet surprises
Each day brought something different and delightful. In Utrecht, I spotted the famous Miffy pedestrian crossing signs during our countryside tour. In Cologne, we spent hours exploring with a fantastic guide before enjoying local Kölsch beer. The vineyard hike in Rüdesheim taught me more about Riesling grapes than I ever expected to know, and Riquewihr was absolutely the most charming village I have ever visited.
The Black Forest excursion was a perfect example of how well-planned everything was. We hiked through gorgeous scenery to the Ravenna Gorge, then enjoyed traditional Black Forest cake while watching authentic cuckoo clocks in action. It was quintessentially German and thoroughly delightful.
